A set of flashcards and a test, generated together in one step. Every card carries the page it came from and the line it was based on, and the server checks that line really appears on that page before the card is saved.
Lecture slides, PDFs, your own notes, photos of a textbook chapter or the whiteboard, and audio or video recordings. Photograph a chapter page by page and it is treated as one document.
No. Upload something and you get a study set back. Courses, a syllabus and deadlines are optional, and adding them later switches on two extra things: a queue ordered by what is actually due across all your classes, and a predicted recall percentage for a specific exam date.
7 days, and no card. You can upload three documents, generate six times, ask Study Assistant thirty questions and record thirty minutes of a lecture. That is enough to see whether it works for you. Nothing charges automatically when it ends, because we never took a card.
Everything you already made stays readable. Your cards, tests, schedule and notes do not disappear. Making new material needs a subscription.
Monthly is $9.99. Cancel any time, in one tap. Semester is $29.99. Four months. Works out at $7.50 a month, and nothing renews over summer. Pro is $14.99. For recording every class. A hundred hours of lecture a month.
One tap, from the web or the app. The renewal date is shown in your account at all times, and we email you before every charge. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancellation happens in your store settings, because that is the only place a store subscription can be ended, and we link you straight there.
That is the failure everyone worries about, so it is the one we built against. Cards and answers cite a page and quote a line, and a card whose quote cannot be found on the page it claims is flagged rather than shown as fact. When something is not in your material at all, you are told that plainly instead of being handed a confident guess.
Yes, for your own study. Your uploads stay private to your account. We do not pool them into a shared library, we do not show one student another student’s material, and we do not build a searchable corpus out of them.
No, and it will decline. It does not write essays, assignments or take-home answers for you to submit, and it will not help during a proctored exam. Ask it to and it will offer to walk you through the approach or give feedback on your own draft instead.
Yes. Uploading and generating are better on a laptop, where your slides and readings already live. Reviewing cards is better on a phone, where you can do it in the gaps between classes, and reminders actually reach you.
On your phone, yes, using the microphone in the room. For an online class on the web, the browser can capture the audio of a shared tab. An iPhone app cannot record another app’s audio at all, which is an Apple restriction and not something we can work around, so we do not claim otherwise.
That is between you, your institution and the law where you are, and it is worth checking before you press record rather than after. Many universities require the instructor’s permission, and in a number of states everyone being recorded has to agree. We cannot see who is in the room, so we cannot make that call for you. Asking is usually a short conversation.
No. Nothing you upload, record, type or ask is used to train any model, ours or anybody else’s, and the provider that writes your cards is not permitted to train on what we send it. This is the ordinary practice in this category and we do not follow it.
Into your account, and to our own transcription server, which is ours rather than a third party. The audio is never sent to an outside AI provider. When you ask for cards, the text of the transcript is what gets sent, not the recording.
No. It is a pass rather than a plan: you buy four months, they run, and it stops. Nothing charges over the summer unless you ask for it. The monthly plan does renew, until you cancel it.
Write to us and we refund it. If you were billed for a period you have not used, we would rather give the money back than argue about whether you meant to renew.
